Polio drops to be given to children in Udupi district

Udupi: In order to eradicate complete polio disease, on 28th January and 11th March 2018, children below 5 years should administer two drops of polio at nearest polio dropping booths.

Speaking to media persons at her office at Rajathadri, Manipal, Priyanka Mary Francis, Deputy Commissioner of Udupi Distric said, "We need to remain vigilant and maintain the population’s immunity and carry out sensitive surveillance till global polio eradication happens as the poliovirus is still circulating in other parts of the world which may reinfect us."

She said that there would is target of total 82872 children for the polio vaccines, out of those 66681 children are in villages and 16191 childen are in city areas. There are total 670 polio centers which are established and 30 transit booths and 11 mobile teams were established for the convenience of the people.

Dr. Rohini District Health Officer, RCH Dr. Rama and others were present during the press meet.
