Poojary blasts CM and PM for farmers suicide

Mangaluru: Senior Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary asked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resign if they cannot waive the loans of farmers. Speaking at a press meet at the Press Club at Urwa on Tuesday he said the suicide of farmers in the state and elsewhere in the nation is a great insult. He urged the CM to waive the farm loans instead of depending upon the Centre on the issue.

He wanted to know why the CM was hesitant to waive farm loans and recalled how farm loans were waived when he was the Union Minister. He also pointed out that even UP CM Yogi Adityanath has assured to waive farm loans.

Regarding the note book distribution controversy revolving around Mangaluru North MLA Moidin Bava, Poojary said many poor parents cannot afford to buy books for their children. He indirectly hit out at Bava and said Bava must have done this, so that students know, who their MLA is.
