Pramod Madhwaraj assures of Sports hostel for PU students

Udupi: Minister of State for Fisheries, Youth Services and Sports Pramod Madhwaraj said that he would extend residential facility at the sports hostel here from SSLC to PU students. Responding to a request by an hosteller of the hostel at the Jana Mana programme organised by the district administration on Saturday to mark four years of the Congress government in the State, at the District Offices Complex Hall. Students who had passed SSLC and were staying in the hostel now need not worry about making residential arrangements, he said.

A student of Government High School, Brahmavar, said milk provided under the Kshree Bhagya scheme had helped students concentrate on studies. Minister Madhwaraj said milk would be provided daily in schools from July. One student who has been getting pension under the Manaswini scheme, said the amount of Rs. 500 given monthly was not enough. Minister Madhwaraj said he would bring the matter to the notice of the Chief Minister.
