Ramanath Rai attacks Modi led government over price hike

Mangaluru: Former minister Ramanath Rai said that Congress will observe Bharath Bandh on Monday. Addressing media persons here on Saturday, Ramanath Rai said, "The rising fuel rises has turned out to be a huge burden on common people. There is no control over the rising prices of petrol and diesel. During UPA government the crude oil price was 108.26 US dollar per barrel and petrol price was Rs 65 per litre. Now in 2018, crude oil price is US 65 US dollar per barrel and the petrol price is Rs 81.63 per litre.”

"When petrol price was Rs 65 per litre during UPA government, BJP blamed the government and held aggressive protest across the nation. But now BJP is mum on rising fuel prices when their own government is at the centre. People will show their anger by protesting on September 10 as we have called for Bharath bandh. Even the gas prices have skyrocketed to Rs 800 per cylinder compared to Rs 400 per cylinder during UPA government.”

Ramanath Rai also urged people to show full support for the bandh as it is called with good motive.
