Samanvaya Co-operative Bank Madanthyar shifts to own building

Beltangady: Samanvaya Co-operative bank Madanthyar shifted its office to its own well equipped, furnished and air-conditioned new building called 'Amar Correa Memorial Building' on January 9.

Co-operative movement has found itself deep rooted in Madanthyar, a village in Belthangady Taluk, because of an institution called Samanvaya co-operative Bank. This bank has rendered commendable services to the society at large, by working towards the development of the village by pooling the savings of the people and utilizing the money so collected for the development of the people. It completed twelve years of existence in Madanthyar this year and has shifted its office to its own new building.

The parish Priest Lawrence Mascarenhas did the prayer service and blessing. Fr. Charles Noronha, the parish priest of Palimar church, inaugurated the new office and said that Samanvaya has become successful because of its well united members who have worked hard and exhibited openness.

Fr Archibold Gonsalves, the former provincial of Carmelites, Karnataka Goa Province, who presided over the inaugural ceremony of the new building, said that in order to come up in politics some people devide the society and spoil peace and harmony. He appreciated the service rendered by Samanvaya which is incomparable.

The chief guest, Sri SriSriVikhyathanandaSwamiji of Ballyottu Math, Hosmar inaugurated the safe room and felt that the co-operative institutions from other districts have a lot to learn from this counterparts located in Dakshina Kannada. Another chief guest M S Mohammad, the president of D K congress minority committee inaugurated the mini-hall 'Sowhardha Sabhangana' and said that samanvaya projects are very essential to the society and needs to be followed by others too.

On the occasion of the inauguration a new project was launched by Samanvaya, with the blessings of BallyottuSwamiji.It was named as 'Samanvaya Belaku Yojane' which is a facility of solar lights to poor families to encourage their children to study during the power cut. Twenty families were assisted and this project was declared as unceasing.

President of the bank, Maxim Carlo welcomed the gathering. Francis V V compered the programme, vice president Juliana Rita proposed Vote of thanks. CEO John M D’souza and all the directors were present and hosted the programme.
