Mangaluru: City-based filmmaker Sandeep Malani has given a musical tribute to the world famous and much-acclaimed singer Konkan Kogul Wily Rebimbus in his Hindi film series ‘Maa – Yeh Cinemaa Hai’. Malani has used the famous yesteryear’s romantic Konkani song of the singer, ‘Mog Tuzo Kithlo Ashelon’ and has used it as the title track for his film. The new track has been composed and sung jointly by the present popular young singers Prajoth D’Sa and Ashwin D’Costa.

“The song 'Mog Tuzo Kithlo Ashelom', has been my all time favorite song since my childhood and Wilfy uncle has been my favorite singer and a inspiration for my upbringing in the field of arts, music and dance. When I planned the title track of Maa, it just flashed to me that I should use the song. So, firstly I went to uncle’s grave and prayed for his departed soul and asked his permission through my prayers. And then, I approached Meena aunty (Meena Rebimbus) and Vishwas, who happily gave me the permission to use the track. That itself was a miracle. Next, I approached talented singers Prajoth and Ashwin, who came together and created magic with their voice. We retained the feel of the song, and added English and Hindi lyrics to it. As the original track was a romantic song, we changed a word from it, and made it a soulful emotional song between mother and son,” says Malani.

Recently, Malani had the title song poster released at Rebimbus' residence with Meena Rebimbus and Vishwas Rebimbus doing the honors, and the audio track was released with Wilfy Rebimbus' blessings at his grave. Also, simultaneously it was released in Bengaluru by Malani's wife Reshma Malani and her parents Roseline Sequeira and Joseph Rajan.

The track will have famous artist Chitra Mitra sketching the portrait of a mother that will be shot with the titles of the film appearing and it is been presented at the beginning of the film series.
