Scouts and guides selected for eighth International Jamboree

Mangaluru: 10 Scouts and 14 Guides of Sharada Vidyalaya have been selected to eighth International Jamboree to be held at Charnwood in England from July 30 to August 6.

Sharada Education Institutions President Prof M B Puranik said, "82 students have been selected from India for the Jamboree and 30 of them are from Karnataka. Twenty-four students are representing Dakshina Kannada district and all are from Sharada Vidyalaya. Six other students are from Indraprastha Vidyalaya, Uppinangadi."

The students have been selected on the basis of their achievements in state- and national- level events, he added.

Scoutmaster Dinesh will also take part in the Jamboree with the students. Sharada Education Institutions Vice President K S Kalluraya, Trustee Pradeep Kumar Kalkur, Sharada Vidyalaya Principal Sunitha V Madi and Vice Principal Dayananda Kateel were present on the occasion.
