Seminar on Imposition of Hindi

Jagotik Konknni Songhotton (JKS) has convened an important Seminar, on Sun., Aug. 27, 2017, at 10 a.m., at Kalaangann, Mangaluru, to discuss an important issue affecting the future of Konkani namely – ‘The Imposition of Hindi in India and its impact on other languages, especially Konkani’.

3 renowned experts will be presenting papers –

1. Shri Mani Manivannan, Chennai – Leader of the Tamil language movement;
2. Shri Arun Javgal, Bengaluru – Leader of the ‘Hindi-Imposition-Resistance Movement’. And,
3. Dr. Pratap Naik, Goa – Konkani Linguist and Researcher.

Delegates representing various Konkani organizations from India and abroad, will be participating. All those interested are welcome to attend.

The Seminar will begin with a short celebration of the 25th anniversary of the inclusion of Konkani in the VIIIth schedule. In the afternoon, the 6th Global General Assembly of JKS will meet and elect its new Executive Committee.
