Seven Expert students bag KVPY fellowship

Mangaluru: The 'Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana' (KVPY) is a programme that began in 1999 by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India to encourage students who are studying basic sciences to take up research career in science. The aim of this programme is to identify and encourage talented and motivated students to pursue career in research, thus promotimg the spirit of scientific inquiry. This programme aims to assist the students to realize their potential and to ensure that the best scientific talent is groomed for research and development in the country. Generous fellowship and contingency grants are provided to the selected KVPY students up to the pre PhD level or 5 years course in basic science whichever is earlier. In addition, summer camps for the KVPY Fellows are organized at prestigious research and educational institutions in the country.

      

    

Expert Group of Institutions, which has always been in the forefront for promoting science education, under the able guidance of the engineer turned entrepreneur Narendra L Nayak has ably guided 7 students of Expert PU College, here to be eligible for the KVPY fellowship. The successful students who received All India ranks are: Vaishnavi Ballal, Pranavu Sudheesh, Suraj D C, Reethesh Suresh Amminabhavi, Lohith A, Mihir Durgi, Tejas A Shettkar.

Chairman of Expert Group of Institutions congratulated the students and wished them even better success for all the upcoming examinations.
