Shortage of Physicians in Udupi Government district Hospital

Udupi : The district Government Hospital running without proper doctors like Physicians and General Medicines which are badly needed by any hospitals. The diseases like fever, cold, T.B., HIV, heart related diseases, kidney, liver, etc related other diseases needed general Physicians doctors. But since two weeks in Udupi district Government Hospital, Physicians, surgeons not available to treat the patients in OPD. Therefore, the district hospital patients are suffering due to non availability of doctors, said Vishu Shetty Ambalpady, social worker of Udupi.

While speaking with media persons at Udupi Press Club on Tuesday, 29th December around 300 to 400 outpatients daily visited for the general medicines treatment. Even there will be no doctors available to give the medical certificate. Replying to the questions, he said Physicians are most important to any hospital. But such large number of outpatients visit for their treatment. Physicians not available is a serious concern. The elected people’s representatives, government officials should take immediate action to appoint Physicians as early as possible is the demand of them. Mostly poor patients who visit the government hospital have great trouble due to the physicians, he said.
