Shri Krishna Janmashtami and Leelotsava Cultural Programmess to start from September 1, 2015 at Rajanagana

Udupi Aug. 29: Shri Krishna Matha Udupi, Paryaya Shri Kaniyur Matha will organize Shri Krishna Janmasthtami and Shri Krishna Leelothsava Cultural program from Tuesday, 1st September, 2015 through Tuesday, 8th September, 2015 at Rajangana, Udupi.

 

Speaking with the media persons Sri Sri Vidyavallabha Theertha Swamiji, Paryaya Shri Kaniyur Matha, Shri Krishna Matha, Udupi said that Shri Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated to mark the appearance of Lord Narayana as Lord Krishna, who was incarnated to destroy the evil, who were becoming a burden on the earth and to protect the good. The divine incarnation happened on the auspicious 8th day (Krishna Paksha) of the Simha Maasa in the late night with the Rohini Nakshatra. This auspicious day is celebrated every year in Udupi with great festivities and religious activities as per the rituals prescribed by Sri Madhwacharya and Sri Vadiraja Gurugalu. In continuation with the same tradition, we have decided to celebrate “Sri Krishna Ashtadinotsava” from 1st September through 8th September under the leadership of Sri Vidyavallabha Teertha Swamiji of Sri Paryaya Kaniyur Matha. During this period there will be special “Arghypradahana” program at 12.14 a. m. on 5th September, 2015; Saturday. Vittla Pindi and Krishna Leelotsava will be celebrated on Sunday, 6th September, 2015. There will be special religious and cultural programs held regularly during participation on all these days and get blessed by Lord Krishna Mukhyprana.
