Six cases booked in connection with communal violence in DK

Mangaluru: ADGP Alok Mohan said that Six cases have been booked and 17 persons arrested in connection with the communal violence in the district. All the arrested are said to be locals and not from Kerala. No untoward incidents have repeated since two days. The stabbing incidents in Ullal and Uppinagady recently are purely personal issues, the people need not link it with the past communal clashes which took place in the district, he said.

Prohibitory orders have been extended till July 21 on the basis of safety to the public. As per the order, a gathering of five or more people with an intention to create unrest will not be allowed, and no one will be allowed to carry weapons or other harmful objects. The order will not affect routine activities of the people.

He appreciated Mayor’s move on raiding illegal massage parlours and skill game center’s in the city. He requested the public not to respond to comments which hurt the sentiments of any religion on social media.
