Smoke free home programme held at Attur primary health centre

Mangaluru: A community wide intervention to promote ‘Smoke free Homes in Mangaluru’ with the help of primary health care workers was organised at Primary Health Centre at Attur, Kemral-Pakshikere on January 27 by Health and Family Welfare Services, Dakshina Kannada, District Tobacco Control Cell and Tobacco Intervention Initiative Centre, A J Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangaluru.

Dr Pramada from department of Public Health Dentistry, A J Institute of Dental Sciences had discussion with the healthcare workers and a health talk was given regarding the ill effects of ‘Second Hand Smoke’ and the importance of making their homes smoke free.

They were encouraged to initiate ‘Smoke Free Home’ in their respective houses and they were asked to spread the awareness in their neighborhood.
