St Agnes College conducts free eye test camp at Kutthar

Mangaluru: 'Agnes towards community', a community service unit of St Agnes College (autonomous) in association with Anandashrama Seva Trust Puttur, Durgavahini Mahila Mandala Kuthar, Neralu Trust DK organized a one day free eye testing camp at Kutthar.

The event began with a formal lighting of the lamp inaugural. On the occasion, Dr Shantharaj, Wenlock Hospital addressed the gathering on the importance of eye testing, cataract surgery and eye donation.

Dr Manohar Rai said, “If we are healthy, we can keep the environment healthy.” He also appreciated St Agnes College for actively being part of the programme that provides students an opportunity to learn the importance of eye donation.

“Eye donation makes a difference," said Dhanalakshmi Gatti, member of Someshwara Zilla Panchayat. She congratulated St Agnes College for arranging many of these programmes that contribute toward development of the community.

Around 250 people attended the programme and were beneficiaries of the same. 130 people were distributed free spectacles, four people were advised and taken for cataract operation.
