St Agnes PU College celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava

Mangaluru: St Agnes PU College under the aegis of Kannada Sangha ‘Hanathe’ commemorated Kannada Rajyotsava with joy, vigour and pride.

Fr Chethan Lobo, editor of ‘Uzvaad’ a Konkani fortnightly magazine was the guest of honour. In his address he stressed upon importance of Kannada, Language in present scenario and also remarked that ‘Kannada’ is the identity of every resident of Karnataka state.

Students presented a cultural extravaganza depicting the rich cultural heritage of our state Karnataka. It included a dance drama ‘Dashavatara’, a skit promoting anti corruption, Kamsale, Yakshagana, corgi traditional dance. It concluded with a rousing rendition of the state song ‘Jaya Bharata Jananiya Tanujate’.

The programme was also graced by Sr M Shamita, principal of the college, Sr Norine, vice-principal, Shailaja, Kannada lecturer and all the staff and students.

The programme was compered by Deeksha and Harshitha, Princia welcomed the gathering and Prathima expressed gratitude to all concerned for the success of the programme.
