St Agnes PU College emerges champions at taluk girls throwball tourney

Mangaluru: The pre-university education department in the city and St Agnes PU College, jointly organized a taluk level throwball tournament on October 26.

The chief guest Pradeep D'Souza inaugurated the tournament. In his speech he stressed the importance of sports in students’ lives and also mentioned that students should grab the facilities from the government and enhance their overall development in the field of sports. A total of 25 teams took part in the tournament.

St Agnes PU College bagged the ‘overall championship’ trophy in the girl’s category and Padua PU College won the winner’s trophy in the boys category.

Dr Sr Maria Roopa, the joint secretary of St Agnes Group of Institutions, Sr Shamita AC, the principal, Sr Norine D'Souza the vice principal, Premnath Shetty, district level sports convener, Jayashree, the convener and the physical directress, Anita Dehnugar, vice president of PTA were present at the inauguration. Nidhi was the master of ceremonies for the programme and Diksha welcomed the gathering.
