St Christopher association celebrates hostel day

Mangaluru, Dec 10: The St Christopher association celebrated its hostel day in the city. Speaking on the occasion as chief guest of the function, manager of Anupama monthly magazine, Mohammad Mohisin said, "As we see everywhere nobody is ready to help others in today's scenario. Here is an example of a difference. The christian vehicle owners and drivers united together at St Christopher association and have managed a hostel for all religion people for the last 34 years. This is a valuable lesson for everyone."

Fr J B Crasta, parish priest of Rosario and spiritual director of the association said, "This is the lesson Christ taught and His follower St Christopher followed it to help people at all times during his lifetime.

President of the association as well as the function, Raymond D'Cunha welcomed and elaborated on the details of the hostel. " Our ancestors had a vision of starting this hostel and now 56 boarders are inmates. Many doctors, chartered accountants, journalists, advocates are staying here. They are from DK, Udupi, Kasargod districts. We take minimum maintainance monthly fees and the management committee's selfless work maintains this hostel.

Honourary president Susheel Noronha gave away Christmas gifts to hostel staff. Secretery Denis D'Souza, Vamanjoor read the report and delivered the vote of thanks. Leena D'Souza compered the programme. Manager Praveen Lobo and committee members were present.
