St Lawrence Church Vijayadka organizes paddy cultivation programme

Published On : 24 Jul 2016   |  Reported By : Canaranews Network

Bantwal: St Lawrence Church, Vijayadka celebrated paddy cultivation programme on July 19.

The parish has a total of 220 families out of which 150 parishioners consisting of youth, men and women came forward voluntarily to offer their services for parish field work. They had a lovely fun-fellowship-unity-enjoyment time by working together.

Parish Priest Fr Micheal Mascarenhas took the initiative to organize paddy cultivation programme along with all the parish council members. Since 40 years paddy cultivation has been going on. For the past four years we have been planting paddy in half a day. We are using this rice for all parish programmes- retreat, youth day, children’s camp, scc programme, parish feast etc. It is a great joy for all the parishioners of Vijayadka Church.
