State Government should take immediate steps to overcome drinking water shortage - Shobha Karandlaje MP

Udupi: Drinking water crisis is reported in most the areas of the state. It is learnt that this year in state the worst drought arises which several important ponds, rivers and lakes drying up. Government should take immediate measures to solve the drinking water crisis in the state, said Shobha Kanrandleje, MP.

While speaking to media persons during the press meet at the Zilla Panchayat Office Hall on Wednesday, 23rd March, 2016 she said that Siddharamaiah government released PFI and KFD activists and state government has been soft on these activists. She alleged that the activists of Popular Front of India and KRD were involved in the murder of BJP activist Raju in Mysuru. Since the Congress government in the state, incidence of attack on BJP activists has increased. The Government is indirectly supporting these elements of the killing of BJP activists, she alleged. She also said that Hindu activists have been murdered in Moodabidri Madikeri, Shivamugga and Mysore by the members of PFI and KFD.

She said that a flyover would be constructed on National Highway 66 at the Ambalpady Junction after conducting a feasibility study. She met engineers and had meeting with them and instructed to study feasibility, and so the less costly proposal would be taken up.

But at present the grade level road would be constructed at Ambalpady junction of Udupi. As a further measure a flyover would be constructed at Ambalpady flyover in the direction of Brahmagiri – Ambalpady Road.

She said there were some other spots on NH 66 in Udupi district, which causing problems for people. She would ask the Road Safety Committee to visit these spots and find out the problems. There would be problems in the Brahmavar bus stand which will be solved.

She urged NHAI to widen the Charmadi Ghat and to concrete it which would provide a better connectivity between Chickmagluru and Udupi districts as well.

Siddaramaiah government looking for abolishing Lokayukta by creating alternative separate Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) with the intention to protect the corrupt which will be an attempt to end cases against the Chief Minister, Ministers and their officials.

Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde President of District BJP, Udaykumar Shetty former President, Shyamala Kundar, Geetanjali Suvarna, Shilpa G. Suvarna and other were present during the press meet.
