Udupi: In preparation of the Annual Feast of Our Lady of Vailankani Shrine, Kalmady near here, the parishioners organized, colorful Offerings “Hore Kanike’ procession from Adi Udupi junction to the Stella Maris Shrine on Saturday, 13th August, 2016.

The Parish Priest of Kalmady Church, Rev Fr. Alban D’Souza gave his introductory brief address prior to the flag of the procession and gave the importance of Hore Kanike on the occasion of the celebrations of the Feast of Our Lady of Vailankani on Monday, 15th August, 2016.

Prior to the flag off the procession, Rev Fr. Alban D’Souza blessed the miracle statue of Our Lady of Vailankani with prayers. The procession was flagged off by Fr. Alban D’Souza, supposed to be done by Meenakshi Madhava Bannenje Mayor of Udupi Municipal Council not present.

The procession reached the premises of the church which Fr. Alban D’Souza received the Hore Kanike from the devotees. Rev Fr. Valerian D’Silva capuchin, Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Flavia, Secretary Sanjay Andrade, former vice president Louis Lobo, ward gurkars and parish council members were present.

Prior to the Adoration, a brief stage program held which Smt. Meenakshi Madhava Bannanje was the guest of honor and was felicitated by the Fr. Alban D’Souza. Flavia introduced the gatherings. Sanjay Andrade compered the brief programme.

The Adoration conducted by Fr. Alban D’Souza and Eucharistic celebration led by Rev Fr. Martis, Rector of St. Joseph’s Seminary, Mangaluru.

The Annual Feast of Our Lady of Vailankani will be held on Monday, 15th August, 2016 at 10.30 am. The Solemn High Eucharistic Mass will be celebrated by Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi diocese. The large number of devotees will expected to participate during the festive mass. The mass will be followed by “Annasantarpane” to all the participants during the celebrations.
