Students of St Joseph’s High School Bajpe celebrate silver jubilee reunion

Mangaluru: 25 years after High School graduation, a group of ex-students from the class of 1991 met for a memorable and fun-filled ‘Silver Jubilee Reunion’ at the St Joseph’s High School, Bajpe.

Arun Bhandary, Dhanraj Shetty, Godseth Menezes, JK Sandeep, Jaison D’Costa, Dr K Kowshik, Mahesh Prabhu, Manohar Bhat, Prashanth Shetty, Rajnish Nilaya and Dr Sathish Shetty attended silver jubilee reunion at school premises.

Br Hector Pinto, Principal of St Joseph’s Pre-University College warmly welcomed and extended exceptional hospitality to this excited group of ex-students as they arrived at their Alma Mater.

Br Pinto said, “At St Joseph’s, we are a large and growing family of staff members, current students and ex-students. Our ex-students have excelled in numerous fields all over the world and have brought name and fame to our institution. They have also immensely contributed to the growth and development of this progressive campus.”

Much to the delight of the reunion participants, Bro Pinto gladly changed into the silver jubilee t-shirt sponsored by Maharashtra-based Thunga Hospitals courtesy Dr Sathish Shetty.

A special assembly of the high school students was facilitated by Alwyn Noronha, Headmaster of St Joseph’s High School.

On behalf of the Silver Jubilee celebrants, Mahesh Prabhu and Dr Sathish Shetty addressed the young students and encouraged them to enjoy the best days of their lives without inviting any kind of stress or strains on their young minds.

They also highlighted the importance of values that St Joseph’s adds and advised them to ensure a healthy balance between studies and play while making best use of the magnificent learning, development and sports facilities that St Joseph’s Bajpe offers.

On this special occasion, the group of ex-students announced the following three awards for the high school students during this academic year comprising of trophies and cash prizes: Best Academic Performer; Best Sportsperson and Best All-rounder.

An elated Br Pinto led a tour around the revamped campus and the sprawling playground, whereby the ex-students also enjoyed a short football session with the physical education teacher. The campus visit was signed-off with ceremonial planting of saplings and a sumptuous treat of breakfast from the principal.

The Silver Jubilee celebrants then proceeded to their overnight picnic at Paradise Isle Resort, Malpe enjoying the sun, sand, rains, delicious beach-side bites and a grand dinner replicating their school-time days. The reunion celebration concluded with the return trip culminating at St. Joseph’s Church, Bajpe.
