Swacch Attavar Abhiyan marks KMC Hospital's silver jubilee

Mangaluru: Marking its 25th year of successfully delivering clinical services, KMC Hospital Attavar took up the cleanliness drive – 'Swacch Attavar' as part of Swacch Bharat Abhiyan at its Attavar premises, on Sunday, June 4.

The cleanliness drive was flagged off in the morning by Dr Anand Venugopal – medical superintendent of KMC Hospitals Mangaluru.

Team of doctors, management, non-clinical staff and students of KMC Hospital Attavar along with volunteers of Ramakrishna Mission Mangaluru, Sri Pathanjali Yoga Shikshana Samithi Mangaluru, staff and students of Madhusudan Kushe School Attavar participated in the drive.

In the initiative, the team cleaned the public road, a 1-km stretch, from KMC hospital Attavar to NG road. The Swacch Attavar team also cleaned the surroundings and drainage on both sides of the public road making it clean and ready for the upcoming monsoon.

Several social initiatives were undertaken by KMC Hospital Attavar to mark the Silver Jubilee year.

The welcome address was given by Dr G G Laxman Prabhu, professor and HOD of Urology, KMC

After the cleaning initiative, the team assembled for refreshments. M Shashidhar Kotian, professor of Biostatistics at Kasturba Medical College proposed the vote of thanks.

More than 200 people volunteered for the Swacch Attavar drive wherein children as young as 5 years and elders as old as 83 years enthusiastically cleaned the public roads.

Dr Santhosh Rai, chairman of the KMC Hospital Silver Jubilee Committee, Premalatha, human resource head, Gracy Lobo, nursing superintendent , Thresia, Sujatha, and Srinivas Kamath were heading various teams in the drive.
