VIRAR LION KRISHNAYYA HEGDE CONFERRED WITH SWASTISIRI STATE AWARD

Bantwala (Punjalakatte), Feb, 28: Swastik Friends Club ® Punjalakatte, the renowned social service institution of Bantwal Taluk, Dakshina Kannada District organized 8th mass wedding celebration at Bungalow ground, Punjalakatte and also celebrated its 32nd anniversary and Swastisiri state award programme.

The new couples were brought to the wedding venue in a grand procession in the presence of dignitaries. The programme was held under the leadership of Munnalayiguttu Sacchidananda Shetty-the patron in chief of the mass wedding and the president of Bhayinder south Indian BJP unit. The programme was inaugurated by Krishnappa Bangera Noojidadi –the teacher and Shridhara Shetty.

Veda Murthy Shri Krishna Bhat –the former chief priest of Shri Govindakrishna Temple Guruvayanakere performed the rituals of the mass wedding and blessed the newly wedded couple. Golden Tali, new dresses to the bride and bridegroom and Rs.10, 000 (joint account) were given as a gift to 27 couples. The industrialist Vasant Hegde Padeguttu and Swarnalata V Hegde gifted the talis to the brides and wished good luck. .

Later, Swastik Friends club celebrated its 32nd anniversary. Devendra Hegde Kokradi –the President of Heggade Seva Sangha, Bangalore led the president ship of anniversary and Rajesh Naik Ulepeguthu as well as Nalin Kumar Kateel –the Member of Parliament inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.

Varadaraja Pai Mavinakatte (Entrepreneur), Manjappa Madanthyar (social service), Gopal Anchan and Mohan Shriyan (Journalism), Kum.Panchami Marur and Kum.Adwitha Shetty Mangalore (child talent) and Shri Durga Friends club Karenki institution (Best Youth Organization) were conferred with Swastik celebration award.
