Talents Day inaugurated at St Philomena PU College Puttur

Puttur: The inaugural function of inter class cultural competition ‘Talents Day’ was organized by Fine Arts Association of St Philomena Pre University Puttur on October 28, 2016 in college auditorium.

The Principal Rev. Fr Vijay Lobo and the chief guests Vidwan Girish B, Vidhushi Anusha Hegde and Design Engineer Mr. Bhaskar Kulkarni inaugurated the Talents Day by sprinkling the petals of flowers.

The Principal in his presidential address said, ‘The aim of education is to achieve overall development of personality of every student. This can be realized by giving importance to both academic and extracurricular activities.’

The ‘Talents Day’ competition included various items like classical dance, folk or semi classical dance, mime or skit, western dance, group song, yakshagana or talamaddale and traditional fashion show.

The convenor Mrs. Dimple J Fernandes, coconvenors Mrs. Sumana Prashanth, Mrs. Manjula K, Mr. Sandesh Lobo, Mr. Vijay Maxim D’Souza and Mr. Rahul coordinated the programme. Ms. Anuradha Bharadvaj and team performed the prayer. The joint secretary of Students’ Council Ms. Deepa Bhat welcomed the gathering. The coconvenors Mrs. Viola Pereira proposed the vote of thanks and Mrs. Laveena Santhmayor compered the programme.
