Teachers are mentors who struggle and sacrifice in the school - Dr. Daizy Vaz

Udupi : Milagres English High School, Kallianpur celebrated 27th Annual School Day celebration at Milagres Tri-centenary Hall on Thursday, 3rd December, 2015.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Dr. Daizy Vaz, Directress of Physical Education, Dr. T. M. A. Pai College of Education, Udupi, said that the teachers are mentors who honor noble struggle, patience and sacrifice in the school. Meantime, parents being the first teachers have the potential to play an important role and are like the proverbial complementary wheels progress. She praised her student, Fr. Mahesh D’Souza for the immense progress of Milagres English School, Kallianpur with his stewardship to the growth of school.

Very Rev Fr. Stany. B. Lobo, Correspondent of Milagres Institutions presided the occasion. Walter Cyril Pinto, Vice President of Milagres Cathedral parish pastoral council was the chief guest. Mrs Olympia D’Souza, President and Mrs. Anita Dias, Vice President of Parent Teacher Association and Roylex D’Souza School Pupil Leader were present on the dais.

The programme started with a prayer dance by the students followed by welcome address by Fr. Mahesh D’Souza, School Principal. The annual academic report of the high school was placed by Principal, Fr. Mahesh D’Souza.

The students secured highest marks in SSLC examinations 2015 were honored during the occasion. Meanwhile, students who shined in state level and qualified for national level in sports were felicitated. They were Disha Acharya, Abin Devadiga, Sunny D’Souza, Merwyn Rodrigues, Adarsh Kunder, Prajna Janardhan Kodavoor, Athif, Janani, Varun, nithish Suvarna, Swaroop, Ankush and Shashank in sports. Romith Fernandes who won third place in state level Karate was also felicitated.

Walter Cyril Pinto spoke during the occasion and appreciated the school for the fantastic achievements in academic and sports activities. Fr. Stany B. Lobo gave his presiding address and blessed the occasion.

After delivering vote of thanks by Mariate Sequiera, cultural programme was held with an outstanding performance by various scintillating dances, lesson giving skits and other beautiful shows of fun and entertainment. Roylex D’Souza and Prajna Kodavoor compered the programme with an outstanding mastership and fervor. The annual day concluded by singing the school anthem.
