Technofia - 18, the Intercollegiate Technical Fest held at Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Alva’s Institute of Engineering & Technology, Moodbidri organized an Intercollegiate Technical Fest - TECHNOFIA’18 for all surrounding engineering colleges on 22nd March.

The event was inaugurated by Mr. Deepak Rai, CEO, Code Craft Pvt. Ltd, Mangalore. In his inaugural address, Mr Deepak said, " Lack of technical skills is one of the biggest challenges of an engineering student. It is very vital to develop one’s technical skills during student life. Technical fests like these will harness students’ skill and motivate them”.

Mr. Vivek Alva, Managing Trustee, Alva’s Education Foundation presided over the function. He emphasized that practical knowledge will ensure students' efficiency and success in job market today. He insisted all students to involve in coding activities like GitHub.com, Hackerearth.com and Hackerank.com etc.

Dr. Peter Fernandes, Principal, AIET, Dr. Manjunath Kotari, HOD CSE, Faculty coordinator Mr. Hemanth Kumar N.P. and all faculty members and students of the department were present during the program.

About 150 students from various engineering colleges of the region took part in the event, along with 250 students of the host college. The competitions, namely, technical paper presentation, technical quiz, tech Charades, tech wizards, web designing, IT Manager, In-Quest, Architect Engineered were conducted in the fest. The Valedictory program was held on the same day where cash prizes for the winners were given away.
