The 2nd day novena for Infant Mary resounding at Milagres Cathedral

Udupi: The atmosphere at Milagres Cathedral of the Udupi Diocese at Kallianpur near here on Sunday, the second day of the Nine-day novena was resounding with the popular and traditional hymn “Sakkad Sangatha Mellyan, Sakkad laggi Saryan”.  

The novena days are the preparation for the feast of ‘Monthi Fest,’ the birthday of Our Lady of Nativity, Mother Mary for successive nine days.

Following the culmination of the mass after the recitation prayer by Rev Fr. Rollwin J. Aranha Asst. Parish Priest of Milagres Cathedral, the children and elders proceeded towards the portico of the church where the statue of infant Mary was adorned with a wide variety of colorful flowers brought in by the devotees. The large number of children showered flowers on the statue of Mother Mary to the accompaniment of the hymn ‘Moriyek Hogolshiyan.’ The portico was jam-packed with children and the devotees of Mother Mary.

Sweets were distributed to all the children who offered flowers to infant Mary. All the nine days of novena, sweets will be distributed all, which are donated by parishioner and well wishers.
