The Diocese of Mangalore holds preparatory meeting for the State level Catholic Charismatic Convention.

Mangaluru: The Diocese of Mangalore holds preparatory meeting for the State level Catholic Charismatic Convention.

The preparatory meetings for the forthcoming State level Catholic Charismatic Convention was held at Bishop’s house on Thursday 12th of October 2017. Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza the Bishop of Mangalore had convened a special meeting of the Diocesan Pastoral Parishad to plan and prepare for the Convention. While presiding over the meeting said that the Convention is held on the occasion of Golden Jubilee of Charismatic Renewal in the Catholic Church. This is a State level Convention where the Bishops of fourteen dioceses of Karnataka along with their priests and lay people will be participating in it. The Convention will be held from 9th to 12th of November at Rosario Cathedral Church grounds. There will be a training programme for the leaders coming from various Dioceses. May all those who participate in the Convention be filled with the anointing of the Holy Spirit, he said.

Most Rev. Dr Lawrence Mukkuzzy Bishop of Belthangady spoke on the spiritual benefits people have received due to the Renewal in the Catholic Church. This time, he said, people must attend the Convention in large number and benefit from this unique opportunity.

Fr Onil D’Souza the convener of the Convention placed before the members the preparations already done and also the details of the preparation to be done in the days to come. He requested the prayers, co-operation of all those who were present and also from all the people of the Diocese to make the Convention successful.

Mr M.P. Noronha the Secretary of the Diocesan Pastoral Parishad requested the members to come and participate in the Convention in large numbers. He said that people from far and nearby parishes make up their mind to attend the Convention.

Fr Richard Coelho, the director of Fr Muller Hospital moderated the meeting. Msgr Denis Moras the Vicar General of the Diocese, Fr Melwyn Noronha the director of Charismatic Renewal, Priests, Sisters and representatives from all over the Diocese were present for the meeting.
