Mangaluru: Dr. Alwyn D’Sa, Vice President of St. Aloysius College, Mangalore was the Chief Guest. Shri Christopher D’Souza Neenasam, Chief Trainer of Kalakul presented the Annual Report.
Dr. Alwyn D’Sa honoured the outgoing trained artistes with Diploma Certificates. The Certificates were given to 7 artistes who have successfully completed their theatre training in 2015-16 batch. They are Clanwin Brayan Fernandes, Ashel Maria D’Silva, Flavia Rodrigues, Frivita D’Souza, Rohan Jacob D’Souza, Swarna Rita Veigas and Vikas Preetham Lasrado.

Vikas Preetham Lasrado was awarded Best Kalakul Artiste of the Year. The award included Rs. 3,000/- in cash. The best co-worker award was shared by Clanwin Brayan Fernandes and Ashel Maria D’Silva, with a cash prize of Rs. 1,000/- each. The graduates spoke about their feelings and experiences of being a part of Kalakul. Members of the technical team who helped in the stage setup, lights, music were also honoured. Chief Guest, Dr. Alwyn D’Sa in his speech said that because of dramas, society has progressed a lot and he was happy that young artistes have chosen to be in this profession. The actors chosen for 2016-17 are – Vikas Preetham Lasrado, Frivita D’Souza, Swarna Rita Veigas, Rohan Jacob D’Souza, Flavia Rodrigues, Sheldon Tauro and Jackson D’Cunha.
Arun Raj Rodrigues, Play writer and Administrator of Kalakul gave the welcome address, compered the programme and expressed his gratitude to all who worked and supported for the success of Kalakul Repertory. Shri Louis Pinto, President of Mandd Sobhann and Shri Kishore Fernandes, Secretary of Mandd Sobhann, along with the Shri Roy Castelino, President of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy – were also present on the dais.
This year, Kalakul Repertory has produced 4 major plays, 5 short plays and has presented 27 shows.
