“The Plan” team will launch ‘save girl child campaign’

Udupi : In order to the raise funds for girls who are suffering from Cancer, the Kannada Film crew of “The Plan” will be launch Save Girl Child campaign in association with Cankids Girl Child project in Mangalore, Udupi, Karkala and Kundapur, said Sunil Shetty Kolambe.

He was speaking with media persons at Udupi Press Club on Tuesday, 15th March, 2016, said that from Mangalore, Kundapur and Karkala from four talkies Rs. 19,32,000/- expectred and out of that Rs 14 lakhs will spent for Save Girl child campaign, other amount will spent for other expenditure.

During the press meet Girl child Cancer ambassador Ritu Balla said that she was diagnosed for Cancer at the age of four. She was underwent treatment in private hospital. My parents were worried about securing life of boys instead of girls. India has male dominated country and girls are always treated as great burden to the parents and the society as well. That’s why I decided to devote full my life time as cancer survivor employee in 2013. It should be always cancer patient confident about the full healing and have the normal life, she added.

She said that more than 44 branches of NGO’s in the country working for the support the cause. Dr. Harsha Prasad Paediatric Hematologist and Oncologist, KMC Hospital, Mangalore said that during childhood about 80% cancer is curable due to better response to the treatment and protocols.

Ashok Shetty, Director, manjunath Kirthi Producer, Kaustub Jayakumar actor, Sriram actor, Ramesh Shetty social worker,Ravi Katpady social worker and other were present.
