The foundation stone laid for Salihath College, Tonse, Hoode

Udupi: One need character rather than higher education. One can succeed in life without higher education. But one can succeed in life with good character, said Moulana Sayyed Jalaluddin Umari President of Jamat – e- Islami Hind, New Delhi.

While speaking after the stone laying ceremony of Salihath College at Salihath College Campus, Tonse, Hoode, on Wednesday, 3rd February, 2016, he said that one can lead successfully in good moral values in life. Mohammadia Educational Institutions can provide good moral values than academic studies which will be necessary in succeeded life.

Prior to the stage programme, foundation stone was laid for Salihath Degree College by Moulana Sayyed Jalaluddin Umari.

The stage programme started with an invocation prayer. Janab M. Ismail, President of Mohammadia Education Trust presided the occasion. The chief guests present during the occasion were Janab Athrarulla Sharif, State President of Jamat – Islami Hind, Karnataka, Vinay Kumar Sorake, Minister for Urban Development, Govt. of Karnataka, Pramod Madwaraj local MLA, Udupi, Mrs. Veronica Cornelio, Chairperson KSDL, Janardhan Tonse, Chairman of Udupi Urban Development Authority, Mohan Chandra Nambiar, Syndicate member Mangalaore University, Amrith Shenoy, member Academic Council, Mangalore University, Ashfaq Ahmed, President, Udupi Jilla Muslim Okkuta, Abdul Salam Uppinangadi, Mohammed Idrees and other officials of Trust and other guests.

Janab Atharulla Sharif in his address said that it will be the responsibility of the government to provide basic need of its citizen. Not only education, government should help its citizens with proper basic needs like water, better roads, houses to the needy and so on.

Vinay Kumar Sorake said out of 168 promises during the election 108 promises fulfilled. The education point of view, during the previous academic year Udupi district first in SSLC results in the state, second in SSC results, done well in UPSC exams and rank in CET. Udupi district would be the leading district in the country in the development of education. The contribution of the private schools and colleges in the state has been remarkably good and great.

Pramod Madwaraj and other guests on the dais also addressed the gathering. Earlier, Akbar Ali welcomed the gathering. Prior to the stage programme distribution of prizes were held for the winners in various competitions of English as well as Kannada medium students and cultural programmes were also held.

The college will be opened during 2016/17 academic year which the construction of building budget cost will be Rs. 3 crores with various modern facilities. At present, more than thousand students studying in Salihath schools and PU College having sufficient faculty.
