Udupi: The development of the state has standstill and there is no growth, said B.S. Yeddyurappa Byndoor – Shivmoga Member of parliament and former Chief Minister of Karnataka State. He was speaking with the media persons at Hotel Daina, Udupi on Sunday, 20th December, 2015.

He said that the people of the state are angry with the state government. He gave some of the statistics in regard to the growth of the state. The Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiha himself believes that there is no development when he reviewed with various departments in the state. There has been no development in Grama Panchayat and Zilla Panchayat. Rural development has recorded only 3.23%. Anganawadi, housing development has 0%. Primary education 3.39%. In the budget Rs. 11,772 crores had been sanctioned for the development of SC/ST. But only 2,248 crores have been spent. Only 24% of funds has been spent.

He said that under Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Development Corporation, Rs. 451 crores was sanctioned for all rural areas. But a single paisa has not been released. In regard to state development, growth and development point of view that nothing achieved.

He also said that BJP will surely win 15 seats in the MLC election across the state. There is no fight between the candidates in Dakshina Kannada – Udupi constituency where BJP candidate is already at winning stage. Rs. 18,815 crores debt registered in 2015/16 for the state. After the five year term of the government, the situation of the state could be serious. The state is in difficulties. So people of the state are angry with the present government.

Asking with the question of the National Herald case, he said that it’s wrong to blame BJP and Modi. When there is summons, everyone has to appear in the court. If you do not appear in the court, then you do not have faith in the judiciary. There is no relation between the party and the case. Disturbing the proceedings in the Rajya Sabha by the Congress, this is not fair from the point of view of the nation. Congress leaders must respect the judiciary, he said.

Shobha Karandlaje, MP of Udupi-Chickmagluru, Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde, BJP district President, Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLC candidate, Lalaji Mendon, Former MLA of Kaup, Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, Kuthyar Naveen Shetty, Yashpal Suvarna, Shymala Kundar and other leaders were present during the press meet.
