Thumbay Moideen Receives ‘Eminent Aloysian Award’, Delivers Aloysian Conclave Address

Mangaluru: Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of the UAE-based international business conglomerate Thumbay Group received ‘The Eminent Aloysian Alumini Award 2016’, jointly organized by the management of St. Aloysius College – Mangaluru and the St. Aloysius College Alumini Association (SACAA) at a special function held at Fr L.F. Rasquinha Hall, LCRI Block, St Aloysius College on Saturday, 19th March 2016.
The awards committee noted Thumbay Moideen’s outstanding achievements: “Mr. Thumbay Moideen is the founder of the Thumbay Group at UAE. He established the Gulf Medical University in UAE. In a span of 16 years he has established himself as a successful entrepreneur and set up various business operations in 13 sectors including hospitals, medical centres, diagnostic centres, health clubs, pharmacies, retail outlets, coffee shops and nutrition stores. He featured in the list of ‘The Top Indian Leaders in the Arab World’ by Forbes Middle East Magazine in 2014 & 2015.”

 

Thumbay Moideen also delivered the conclave address on the special occasion. Rev. Fr. Swebert D’Silva S.J., Principal of St Aloysius College gave the felicitation speech. Rev. Fr. Denzil Lobo S.J., Rector of St Aloysius Institutions presided over the function. The program saw the participation of large numbers of alumni of St. Aloysius Institutions.

The biennial awards, instituted to recognize St. Aloysius College alumni who have excelled in their respective fields and have made a significant contribution to the society, was awarded to five eminent former students this year.
