Traffic police crack down on high decibel horns in Udupi

Udupi: Udupi traffic police cracked down on buses using high decibel vacuum horns on Wednesday October 7. They intercepted over 40 service as well as city buses at Court Road, Udupi and fined them. This action was taken by SP Annamalai after receiving complaints from public.

The traffic police conducted the operation at two spots - near Jodukatte and at Court Road. The cops stopped the buses which were using high decibel horns and removed them. The buses found guilty of violation were fined Rs 100 each, and if they repeat the offense, they would be fined Rs 200 the next time. They have been asked to use battery horns instead of vacuum horns.

The operation was held in the presence of Udupi traffic SI Rajgopal and ASI Prakash and two other personnel.
