Puttur: A one day training workshop for the consumer club coordinating High School teachers of Puttur, Belthangady and Sullia Taluk was organized by DK District Federation of Consumer Organisations in association with Suraksha Consumer Forum of St Philomena College Puttur in PG Conference Hall of the College on July 13, 2016.
Inaugurator of the Programme Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Campus Director said, ‘In science and technology India has made significant progress at the international level. However, in other aspects like environmental protection, consumer protection, etc., our performance is not impressive. Therefore, there is a need to create awareness about human rights, consumer rights and environmental values.’
The Secretary of DK District Federation of Consumer Organisations Mr. Vishnu P Nayak, Joint Secretary Mr. Rayi Raj Kumar and Mr. Dinesh Bhat of Puttur participated as resource persons.
Prof. Dinakara Rao welcomed the gathering. The convenor of Suraksha Consumer Forum Prof. Nancy Laveena Pinto proposed the vote of thanks.
