Truck catches fire after hitting an electric pole

Bantwal: In an incident which happened during the early morning on Thursday at Sannampadi village on national highway 75, a truck turned into a huge fireball after it caught fire after hitting an electric pole situated by the roadside. The truck was moving towards Mangaluru when the driver lost control over the vehicle. The truck suddenly deviated from its path, and headed straight for the electric police.

After hitting the pole and breaking it into two, it continued its run before coming to a halt on the roadside slope.

The driver narrowly escaped without any injuries. The locals came together to extinguish the fire. Firemen too joined them in sometime and lent support to their efforts. The fire was soon doused.
