Two Books Released at Milagres College, Kallianpur

Udupi Oct 4: Two books “Women Representation in Panchayat Raj Institutions” – A case study of Udupi Taluk and “ Women Empowerment” – A text book prepared for students of certificate course in women empowerment were released under UGC sponsored research program at Milagres College audio visual hall, Kallianpur near here last week, which written by Dr. Nery Cornelio, Principal of Milagres College, Kallianpur.

Very Rev. Dr. Msgr. Baptist Menezes, Vicar General of Udupi Diocese, Vice President of CESU and Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Lawrence C. D’Souza, Secretary of CESU were the chief guests who released the books respectively. Very Rev. Fr. Stany B. Lobo Correspondent of Milagres Institutions presided the occasion. Dr. Nery Cornelio was present on the dias.

Dr. Gerald Pinto and Rayan Mathias gave brief introduction on the books respectively. B.Sc., old students of the college, sponsored scholarships to 7 deserving poor students of B.Sc., and handed over cheques to them during the occasion by the guests. Rev Dr. Msgr. Baptist Menezes during his speech said that research begins with search. He called on teachers and students that they should look for right knowledge, research and choose the right thing. Rev. Dr. Lawrence D’Souza spoke during the occasion and said that a busy person has time for everything.

Fr. Stany Lobo presided and blessed the occasion. Prof. Subhrmanya Joshi welcomed the gathering and Mrs. Poornima delivered the vote of thanks. Prof. Joseph Fernandes of Science Department compered the program.
