Two arrested for robbing and assaulting diploma student

Mangaluru: Two persons were arrested by personnel of Mangaluru rural police station on Monday in relation to the act of kidnapping a diploma student and robbing him of cash and a mobile phone.

Joyal and Vikki Bappal are the persons arrested. On February 14, a gang of four in an auto rickshaw abducted diploma student from Neermarga. He was taken to Sulthan Battery area of city, stripped and assaulted. Then they took Rs 500 and a mobile phone worth Rs 8,000 from the student and ran away from the place.

The parents of the student complained to Mangaluru rural police station on February 15. Within days the police managed the crack the case to arrest two of the accused. Other two accused named Loy and Jayaprakash are yet to be arrested. Police are on look out for them.
