Two minor girls rescued by child welfare organisations

Published On : 07 May 2016   |  Reported By : Canaranews Network

Mangaluru: Childline Mangaluru 1098 and Child Protection Unit have rescued two girls, aged about 10 years who were found begging near Yenepoya Hospital, Deralakatte.

The children are from Davangere. Since their parents were habitual drunkards, they forced them to beg and used the money to consume liquor. Their parents had put up a tent at Mudipu near Konaje and compelled the young children to collect money.

The rescued girls will be enrolled in a school under ’Shaale Kade Namma Nade’ initiated by the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights. The rescued children have been handed over to District Child Welfare Committee for rehabilitation.
