Mangaluru: Uber cab drivers who were upset with their management over the frequent change of tariff and deduction in incentives locked up the company’s office at Balmatta.

B K Imtiyaz, President of District Online Taxi Drivers and Owners Association took strong exception to the management decision to reduce the incentive to Rs 3200 for 27 trips in place of the earlier incentive of Rs 4,100 for 13 trips.

He demanded that the frequent change in tariff should end and cab drivers must get security. "The Uber drivers are not allowed to enter the railway station due to opposition from local rickshaw drivers. This results in a penalty of Rs 15 on the cab driver by Uber, which is unacceptable. We should get justice," Imtiyaz said.
