Udupi CMC to construct commercial building at Santhekatte, Kallianpur at the cost of Rs. 175 Lakhs

Udupi: In order to increase the Udupi Muncipality financial income, Commercial building at the cost of Rs. 175 lakhs to be established at Santhekatte, Kallianpura. So that technical and administrative permission already received and tender to be called in shortly, said P. Yuvaraj Udupi CMC, President.

Speaking to media persons at Sathyamurthy Council Hall in Udupi on Friday, 11th Mar. 16, he has said since two and half years of his president ship for the backward and scheduled caste communities development Rs. 225 lakhs reserved and out of that up to now Rs. 191.24 lakhs already spent for the use. In this project for 23 families Rs. 4,55 for each family, Health Insurance Rs. 50 lakhs, cooking gas connection Rs. 4,150 each to family, self employment Rs. 1.60 lakhs, permanent house construction Rs 70,000 to each family provided.

For the economically backward people Rs. 41.49 lakhs provided and for 125 students scholarship amounted to Rs. 4.1 lkhs, for the purchase of laptop Rs 1.78 lakhs provided.

For the clean of Udupi city special attention has given and for the accumulation of solid waste Rs. 700 lakhs utilized. Road development, Drainage system and other developmental work Rs, 2100 lakhs utilized for the purpose.

Under the plan, new parks would be developed near Kalmady Bridge, Bailoor and Kasturba Nagar at a cost of Rs. 10 lakh which showed the increasing greenery and beautification of the temple city. An additional amount of Rs. 20 lakh had been allocated for the development of a park jointly by the CMC and Udupi Urban Development Authority (UUDA) at Kodankur. The open air theatre at Bhujanga park would be developed with the public. For the fencing of the Bhujanga Park, Rs. One crore allocated.

Meanwhile at Santhekatte, Doddangudde , near MIT Manipal and Subrmanya Nagar Ponds would be constructed in association with UUDA at the cost of Rs. 55 lakh.

New circles in the city would be constructed at Old Diana Circle, Beedinagudde, Mission Compound, End point Junction, Brahmagiri and Narayana Guru Mandira. A circle would be constructed at the busy service bus stand-clock tower area.

The income from the Udupi Utsav from last year and this year Rs. 25 lakhs to be utilized in Burning ward of the District Government Hospital for the better cause as per the guidance from Udupi MLA Pramod Madwaraj. He thanked all the people concerned that elected representatives of the people, municipal councilors, officials, media persons and all concerned for his successful service for people of Udupi as a President of CMC.

Along with President Yuvaraj who occupying last day today as President, Chandrakanth Naik, Janardhan Bhandarkar, Kavitha Krishnamurthy Vice President, Hyothi, Shoba, Latha, Celine Karkada and other councilors were present during the press meet.
