Udupi: Deputy Commissioner of Udupi, Priyanka Mary Francis has asked private hospitals to clearly display their rates for treatment. She said that even after orders to display the rates in a prominent place in hospitals, those are being displayed in corners of hospitals away from the sight of people.

She asked district health and family welfare officer to visit private hospitals and conduct inspections and to obtain pictures of the rate display boards in the hospitals before renewing their licences. The deputy commissioner asked doctors to hold mandatory training to pregnant women in wards itself to prevent death of new-born babies.

“Land has been reserved in Senapura for Endosulfan victims. The land should be fenced by the department of health. Necessary equipment should be provided to the victims,” she added.
