Udupi SP asks citizens not take help of agents for passport

Udupi: Laxman Nimbargi, Superintendent of Police, Udupi district urged the public not to seek any help from middlemen or agents who offer assistance in securing passports and visa. Speaking with media persons during the phone-in programme , SP said, the public should be aware that there is no need for middlemen to get a passport or visa.

"The process has been made simple and the public can themselves perform the required formalities. There are complaints that the aspirants are made to believe that they are offered visa for jobs especially in Gulf countries, but actually it will be tourist visa for few days or months,"he said.

He also warned of strict action agansit those agents, who are found cheating. There were several calls received in regard to traffic violations like illegal parking, rickshaw parking in the places were public density at Karkal and others.

There were complaints against the Udupi CMC that the drainage facility is not offered which effluents flow on the road at Royal Apartment near Diana Theatre. There is one complaint about the bars and liquor shops beyond the restricted time limit.
