Unidentified person found dead on banks of Netravathi

Puttur: The body of an unidentified person was traced on the banks of River Netravathi near Halegutu in Uppinangady on March 27, Sunday.

The locals noticed the body with the face lying down informed the Uppinangady police. Examination of the body by forensic experts and police officials revealed that there were blood stains in the hands of the person and injury on the face.

The deceased is said to be around 45-50 years of age and was found wearing a white shirt with black lines and a brown trousers which was found pulled down.

Even a 180 ml liquor bottle was found nearby. It is believed that the body was dumped in the area close by NH 75 after killing him at around midnight.
