Unveiling of ‘Cement Shilpakala’ at Kalaangann

Mangaluru: Mandd Sobhann has organised a State Level ‘Cement Shilpakala Camp’ at Kalaangann, from July 25 to Aug. 7, 2016, in association with Karnataka Shilpakala Academy (Govt. of Karnataka).

15 life-size cement statues depicting various Konkani communities have been created by 20 artisans sent by the Shilpakala Academy, at Kalaangann. These statues will be unveiled on Sun., Aug. 7, 2016, at 5 p.m., and will be installed permanently at Kalaangann for display.

Shri Ivan D’Souza, MLC & Chief Whip – Karnataka Legislative Council, will be unveiling the statues. Shri Mahadevappa Shambhulingappa Shilpi, the President of Karnataka Shilpakala Academy will preside over the programme. Shri Roy Castelino, the President of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy will be present as the Chief Guest and Shri Louis J. Pinto, the President of Mandd Sobhann and Ms. Indramma H. V., the Registrar of Karnataka Shilpakala Academy will also be present.
