Vivekananda Jayanthi celebrated at St Philomena P U College Puttur

Puttur: ‘Swami Vivekananda was a great social reformer, saint, orator, maker of modern India and a lover of Humanity’, said Prof. Harinarayana Madavu, former HOD of Kannada of St Philomena College Puttur.

 

As a chief guest on the occasion of celebration of Vivekananda Jayanthi organised by Humanities Association of St Philomena Pre University College on January 12, 2016 he said, ‘Swami Vivekananda is best remembered for his speech at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago in 1893. His teachings still continues to inspire millions of minds across the globe.’

Principal of the College Rev. Fr Vijay Lobo in his presidential address said, ‘The teachings of Swami Vivekananda present his wisdoms and messages on diverse subjects, especially for youngsters.’ The Coordinators of the Programme Mr. Bharath Kumar A and Mrs. Jyothi M were present on this occasion. Ms. Relika and team presented the prayer song. Ms. Wilma welcomed the gathering. Ms. Dimple proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Dechamma compered the programme.
