We are all Equal-We all children of Mother India : Rev. Fr. Valerian Mendonca

Kundapura, December 15: “We are all equal; we are all children of mother India. All of us have a responsibility of constructing a good society. Along with education, educational institutions should create a model society, by teaching good culture and manners to the students. A student can achieve success only by the combined co-operation of student-teacher and parent”-said Rev. Fr. Valerian Mendonca-the chancellor of Udupi Diocese .

 He gave this message after inaugurating the annual day function of St.Mary’s pre-university college, Kundapur.

The former national representative of JCI-Manjula Prasad said “We have a responsibility of creating a healthy society. Educational institutions should do this job. This institution has earned good name in every field and has earned 100% result in the field of education. The support of Principal and staff members behind this success is admirable”

Rev. Fr. Anil D’souza-The Parish priest of Kundapura Church and secretary of St.Mary’s group of institutions, wished good luck and in his presidential speech he said “all are welcomed to our institution. But we never compromise with rules and regulations. We teach not only the education but also all aspects of life; and creating good citizens is our goal”

All chiefs of st.Mary’s institution Rev.Fr.Paul Prakash D’Souza, secretary of management committee-John Almeida, president of parent-teacher association Alfred Koath distributed the prizes to the winners in sports and studies. The doners were honored for their contribution. The persons who extended their co-operation to cultural activities were honored. The principal Rev. Praveen Amrith Martis explained the achievements of college with demo. The president of students association –Bharadhwaj was present.

As a part of cultural programme, music, dance, skit were exhibited. Kannada-Konkani writer Bernard D’Costa’s short-comedy drama “hennu samsarada kannu” was performed.

Lecturer Nagaraj Shetty welcomed all. Reshma Fernandis was the main host of the programme-Diishel Fernandis, Vasanth Shetty, Binu Jayachandran,Ravi shetty, Sharmila Menezes and others conducted the programme. Vice-Principal Manjul Nayar proposed vote of thanks.
