Woman stabs drunk husband to death

Bantwal: A woman killed her husband after he came home in a drunken state and picked a quarrel with her late night on Monday November 16. The incident was reported at Veerakamba. The deceased has been identified as Vasu Shetty (45).

Vasu came home drunk on Monday night and started quarreling with his wife Shobha and also assaulted her. In retaliation, Shobha stabbed his chest with a pair of scissors, killing him on the spot.

Shobha is a former member of the local gram panchayat. Vasu was a drunkard and used to come home drunk every now and then and harass Shobha. The couple's two children were away at their's relatives' house when the incident took place.

The police arrived at the spot and arrested Shobha. A case has been registered in Vittal police station.
