Women Empowerment Cell inaugurated at St Philomena College Puttur

Puttur: The inaugural programme of Women Empowerment Cell of St Philomena College Puttur was held on July 26, 2017 in College auditorium.

Mrs. Harini Putturaya, Assistant Professor in Computer Science, Vivekananda College Puttur inaugurated the Cell and said, ‘Women plays a predominant role in the social change of the nation. Today, all walks of life are open to the women.’

Prof. Leo Noronha, Principal in his presidential address said, ‘Today, a large number of women students enter the portals of higher education. Education is the major determinant and catalyst for the rapid social change in the nation.’

The convenor of Women Empowerment Cell Mrs. Venkateshwari K S and Joint Secretary of the Students’ council Ms. Sweedal Lobo were present on this occasion.

Ms. Anarghya S rendered the prayer. Ms. Sahana Rao, President of Women Empowerment Cell welcomed the gathering. Ms. Soundarya, Secretary of the Cell proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Josvita Lorraine Lobo compered the programme.
