Kundapura, March 8: The women’s association of Holy Rosary Church Kundapura celebrated women’s day at church hall on Sunday.

At first, holy mass is performed in church. Parish Priest Rev Fr. Anil D’souza presided over the stage programme and in his message he said – “ today women are ahead in all field and God has created a women with the special qualities like calm and caring nature. Miss Pavithra Menezes Kundapura who appointed as village accountant was felicitated during the occasion.

“Woman should be models to others” – said Sister Premalatha. Sister Chethana – the Head Mistress of Saint Mary’s High school was present as resource person and said that women should lead her life with self-respect. Parish Priest Rev. Praveen Amrith Martis – the Principal of Saint Mary’s PU College expressed good wishes to the programme and Rev. Fr. Paul Prakash distributed the prizes.

Johnson Almeida – the Vice President of custodian committee and smt.Felciana D’Souza the Secretary were present on the dais. Juliet Pois – the president of the women’s association welcomed the gathering. Shanthi Baretto – the secretary, proposed vote of thanks. Vinaya D’Costa compered the programme.

Later, Women self-help-group of Kundapura Church, Mallige, Karunamayee, Sneha, Spoorthi, Chinthana and Pragathi groups performed cultural programmes. Samruddhi and Matha self-help-groups recited the songs, performed dances and exhibited the short-skit.
